Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 14 March 2025
At zenthariax, we've built our approach around something pretty straightforward: your information belongs to you. This isn't about ticking boxes or filling pages with legal jargon. We're explaining what happens with your data when you use our valuation education services, and being upfront about it.
We operate in Australia and follow the Privacy Act 1988, including the Australian Privacy Principles. But honestly, most of what we do here comes down to common sense and treating people the way we'd want to be treated.
What We Collect and Why
Look, we only collect what we actually need. When you sign up for our courses or browse our resources, here's what we might gather and the reasons behind it.
| Information Type | Purpose | Legal Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Name and contact details | Course enrollment, communication about your learning progress | Contract performance |
| Payment information | Processing course fees and managing your account | Contract performance |
| Learning activity data | Tracking your progress, providing support where needed | Legitimate interest |
| Device and browser info | Making sure our platform works properly for you | Legitimate interest |
| Professional background | Tailoring course recommendations to your experience level | Consent |
We don't sell your information to anyone. Never have, never will. That's not how we work, and it's definitely not how we want to build relationships with people learning financial analysis.
How We Use Your Information
The data we collect serves specific purposes. Nothing gets used for random marketing campaigns or passed around unnecessarily.
Primary Uses
- Managing your enrollment and access to course materials
- Sending you updates about courses you've purchased or shown interest in
- Responding when you reach out with questions or need support
- Improving our content based on how students interact with materials
- Meeting our legal obligations around record-keeping and financial reporting
- Preventing fraud and keeping our learning platform secure
Communications You'll Receive
If you're enrolled in a program, you'll hear from us about course updates, schedule changes, and relevant resources. We might also send occasional emails about new courses or content that relates to what you're studying. But we're not flooding inboxes here.
You can opt out of promotional emails anytime. Course-related communications are different though – if you're enrolled, we need to be able to contact you about schedule changes or important updates.
Your Rights Under Australian Privacy Law
Australian privacy legislation gives you real control over your information. Here's what that actually means in practice.
Access Your Data
Request a copy of what we hold about you. We'll provide it in a readable format within 30 days.
Correct Inaccuracies
Something wrong in your records? Let us know and we'll fix it promptly.
Request Deletion
Ask us to remove your information, subject to any legal retention requirements.
Withdraw Consent
Change your mind about optional data collection anytime.
Object to Processing
Challenge how we use your data if you believe it's not appropriate.
Lodge a Complaint
Contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you're unhappy with our response.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@zenthariax.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days. Sometimes we need to verify your identity first, which makes sense when dealing with personal information.
Data Security and Protection
Security isn't just about technology – though we use plenty of that. It's about building systems that protect your information at every step.
What We Do
- All data transmission uses industry-standard encryption protocols
- We store information on Australian servers with physical and digital security measures
- Payment processing goes through PCI-compliant providers – we don't store full card details
- Staff only access data when necessary for their role, and they're trained on privacy obligations
- We regularly review and update our security practices based on current threats
- Systems are monitored for unusual activity that might indicate a breach
If we ever experience a data breach that might affect you, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law. Transparency matters, especially when something goes wrong.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We don't hang onto data forever. Different types of information have different retention periods based on legal requirements and practical needs.
Active Enrollment Period
Full records maintained while you're taking courses or accessing materials.
7 Years Post-Completion
Course records and payment information retained to meet Australian tax and business record requirements.
Marketing Data - 2 Years
Contact details for promotional purposes removed after 2 years of inactivity unless you re-engage.
Anonymized Analytics
Learning patterns and platform usage data stripped of identifying details and retained indefinitely for research.
When data reaches the end of its retention period, we securely delete it from our active systems and backups. Some aggregated, anonymized information might stick around longer for analysis, but it can't be linked back to you.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
We work with other companies to run our education platform. Here's who sees your data and why.
Service Providers We Use
- Payment processors to handle transactions securely
- Email service providers for course communications
- Cloud hosting providers for our learning management system
- Analytics platforms to understand how people use our site
- Customer support tools when you contact us with questions
All these providers are bound by contracts that restrict how they can use your information. They can only process it for the specific purposes we've hired them for – nothing else.
When We Must Disclose
Sometimes the law requires us to share information with government authorities or regulators. This happens in cases involving suspected fraud, legal proceedings, or official investigations. We only share what's legally required and document these requests.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies – small files that help remember your preferences and track how the site gets used. Nothing sinister, just practical functionality.
Types of Cookies We Use
- Essential cookies that make the site work properly and remember you're logged in
- Performance cookies that show us which pages are popular and where people get stuck
- Functional cookies that remember your preferences like language settings
- Analytics cookies that help us understand overall usage patterns
You can control cookie settings through your browser. Blocking some types might affect functionality though – essential cookies really are essential for the site to work.
International Data Transfers
We primarily operate in Australia and use Australian data centers. However, some of our service providers use cloud infrastructure that might process data internationally.
When information leaves Australia, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place through standard contractual clauses and provider certifications. Your rights under Australian privacy law still apply regardless of where data is technically processed.
Children's Privacy
Our courses are designed for financial professionals and aren't directed at anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If we discover we've inadvertently gathered data from someone underage, we delete it immediately.
Changes to This Policy
Privacy practices evolve as technology and regulations change. When we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a revised date at the top.
Significant changes – things that materially affect your rights – will be communicated directly via email. Minor clarifications or formatting updates won't trigger notifications, but you can always check back here to see the current version.
Questions or Concerns?
If something in this policy isn't clear, or you have specific questions about how we handle your information, get in touch. We're here to explain things properly.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you're not satisfied with how we've handled your privacy concerns. Visit oaic.gov.au for more information about that process.
